It’s been a busy couple of days and I counted up that I’m at least 9 postings behind – yikes! So, watch out for the postings to come: Vietnamese Cooking Class, The Merlion, Esplanade, A Visit Back to Kampong Glam, Colonial District, Log Cakes, Chinatown (Red Lantern & Red Clogs), Vandalism in S’pore?, Little India Tour and a visit to Mustafa. I’ve got to keep up because we are in countdown mode (sad face) – we only have about week and a half left. But, Paul assures me we’ll be back (I hope)! 
Paul and I met up after my cooking class on Saturday and walked around Clarke Quay (pronounced “key”) and took a river taxi back to the S’pore Merlion. As you can see from the pictures, Clarke Quay is a bustling place of restaurants & shops along with high-rise condos & offices. It was a treat to walk along the river and as the sun set for the evening we cruised the S’pore River enjoying the bright lights that are so distinctly representative of this city. 
Riverside Point is prolifically photographed and as we crossed the Ord Pedestrian Bridge we saw many photographers taking their shots. Here’s mine…not too bad being that it wasn't taken with a professional camera (smile). 
Enjoy the pictures as we toured the S’pore River down to the mouth at Marina Bay. As an added bonus, if I have photo in the daytime, I posted directly underneath. 
What a romantic way to spend an evening! We really enjoyed getting out and seeing the River from a different vantage point.

I couldn't get a still picture of the Fulterton Hotel, so I just took video. It was built in 1928 and originally housed the General Post Office. In 2001, it was redeveloped into a hotel.A View of The Esplanade, Area Hotels, & the Singapore Flyer
The River Taxi dropped us at the Merlion (famous symbol of S'pore). Here are a couple of pictures but I'm going to do a separate posting on why this Merlion is so important to Singapore and why it stands at the mouth of the S'pore River.
As a note of interest, the Marina Bay Sands (under construction) is in the background of the below picture.
