What a Treat!

Paul and I were treated to an amazing meal on Sunday night!  Our new friends, Yoko & Hisashi invited us over for dinner and she cooked traditional Japanese dishes.  We were just in awe of the food and it was truly fabulous!  Thank you!

Yoko also made Japanese-style potato salad and the roast beef, to the right, was chilled to perfection!
We talked about the roast beef (top right) - we told them that Americans have a very similar dish.  But, there was a purple potato that I'd never had - really good.
Paul and I brought wine and dessert and were able to introduce them to sparkling wine - Schramsburg Blanc de Blancs, Napa Valley.  Also, we took a Cabernet from Long Meadow Ranch.  We also took some Japanese desserts but I didn't get a picture of those.  They are truly delectable!  They come from a local Japanese supermarket and are shipped from Japan - Mochi Cream and the others are something we were introduced to in Japan, Macarons.  Not Macaroons... :-)

Here are a couple of pictures of us enjoying the evening!

Before we went over to Y & H's apartment, we saw the most beautiful sunset - we knew that there was a great evening ahead!
