Sentosa Flowers (Feb. 13)

If you know Singapore then you’ll probably be surprised that we hadn’t been to Sentosa Island before Feb 13th!  But, alas, it is true…so sad!  But, for our first visit, we did a big one.  It was the last day to see “Sentosa Flowers.”  I had seen it advertised but didn’t really take interest until it was almost too late.

I convinced Paul to head over the last day of the exhibition – a Sunday!   We had a good time; lots of people, but, hey, we’re in Singapore – there are people everywhere, anyway!

This picture is for my Mom - she loves Hydrangeas.

Paul and I had a little fun along the way - the first picture is of Paul roaring like the lion - ha!  Maybe he needs to get out his frustrations a little more often!

We took the monorail to the island and then just roamed around; as simple as that!

It was advertised that there were giant tulips and since I thought this was all "real" flowers I was quite disappointed to see that they were tulips but just big fake tulips - how weird?!  As the saying goes, you never know what you're going to get in Asia - always true...

The upside was that there was a whole bed of Stargazer Lilies right beside the fake tulips - Paul took a shot of me with them...heaven for me - one of my favorites :-)
We first enjoyed the flowers and then ended up hiking on a trail that took us to the beach.  I wouldn’t want to swim in that water (ships/freighters all over) but the sand was very inviting.  It was so hot that day – probably close to 95 degrees or so, but we stuck it out and had a good time.
