Sippin’ a Singapore Sling

So, we did it! We did something very, very touristy and had a Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel Long Bar. If you didn’t know, the Long Bar is the birthplace of the Singapore Sling and Million Dollar Cocktails invented by a unique bartender, Ngiam Tong Boon. We also had some yummy appetizers for dinner and just enjoyed a nice Sunday evening. If you look closely you'll see peanut shells on the floor - relaxed, casual atmosphere!

We didn't bring "Flat Phoebe" because we thought it inappropriate but as you can see these boys sure did know how to occupy themselves (LOL)!
Boys will be boys!

  1. HA! And you wrangled Paul out of the office to see it! Did you like the S'pore slings?

  2. I actually liked it! Paul was knocked on his *@% after one - lightweight! We had a good time and I was glad to drag him away for a little while. He's a maniac!

  3. I did forget to say that alcohol here is VERY, VERY expensive. So, just one of those little cocktails is $S24 ($17 USD) - ouch, right?! If you wanted the souvenir glass, then it went to $S33 (no, we didn't do that!). They really try to control drinking here by heavily taxing alcoholic drinks in restaurants/bars. Although when you go to the store you can get a decent bottle of wine for a fairly normal price - go figure!

  4. It's all about that idea of keeping the citizens under control. The government is ALWAYS watching, even right now. Right now. Right now.
