So, I HAD to See it Again!

Yes, New Moon! I had to go again to really form an opinion (LOL). I, of course, loved Edward and the brooding mannerisms. And I found a whole new respect for Jacob – you go Taylor Lautner. There was palpable chemistry between him and Bella. I’m trying to figure out how they are going to do Breaking Dawn…since they did pretty well with New Moon, then Eclipse should be okay but I don’t know. Eclipse really is my favorite of the series. There were some really dopey parts (meaning the ideas from the book didn’t translate well to the screen), but then they would pick it up with some really cool parts. AND, they did a good job with the wolves – amazingly enough! My favorite scene from the movie: Hearing Damage is playing in the background and Charlie, Harry Clearwater and other men from Forks are looking for the “wolves” while Victoria is taunting them. Really, really well done!

More than anything, the music was PHENOMENAL!! They nailed that for sure. Except, there are a few more songs that Stephenie Meyer put together while she was writing New Moon that really capture some of the thoughts of the book (I’ve listed these below). They should have put them in the movie, but some of the music groups I don’t think are as popular with the teeny boppers that are the “intended audience!” As I told a friend of mine via email, I bought the soundtrack back on the 16th of Oct, so already knew the music and it made it a little disconcerting when the movie started– I don’t know it I really liked that!
Favorites from the Soundtrack:
No Sound but the Wind – The Editors (for the purists, yes, the lyrics were changed for New Moon, but this version is pretty good too! – BUT, they didn’t play this song at the right time in the movie!!!!!)
New Moon (the Meadow) – Alexandre Desplat
Hearing Damage – Thom Yorke
A White Demon Love Song – The Killers
Monsters – Hurricane Bells
Favorites from Stephenie Meyer’s Playlist:
Sing for Absolution – Muse
Sound of Heaven Pulling Down – Blue October
Not the One – Collective Soul
Everybody’s Changing – Keane
Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning) – Vertical Horizon

  1. Really? You HAD to see it AGAIN?!?

I might have to take you up on the offer for the movie. I might be siding with Paul on this one.

  2. Yes and I saw it again after that - I can't believe I'm actually admitting to that fact!

What did Paul say? I wish I could have seen it with you here!
